Prominent child safety advocate praises software’s ease of use and ability to transmit critical information during times of crisis.
July 25, 2007 - Maureen Kanka, who crusaded to pass Megan's Law following the rape and murder of her daughter Megan by a twice convicted pedophile, has not only added her voice to the growing number of law enforcement and child safety advocates but has agreed to become the spokesperson for Life-Prints Child Safety Software. Maureen has been a tireless and significant voice in child safety for the past thirteen years and lends her name to the most sophisticated child safety software system available today.
"The first thing that you want to provide to the police if your child disappears is updated, accurate, personal and detailed information. You want to give law enforcement the necessary tools they need in a hurry to avoid a tragedy. The last thing you want to do is not to be able to locate or provide that crucial personal information because you can't find it or did not create it in the first place," says Kanka.
Life-Prints software enables parents to maintain up-to-date, electronic profiles of their children stored on their computers or password protected flash memory devices. Digital photographs, physical descriptions, medical records, insurance information, and contact numbers can all be stored and are available for transmission, in case of an emergency. Other features include the capability to digitize ink fingerprints and print an unlimited number of child ID cards, as well as print posters and flyers. The child's emergency files can be transferred to any flash memory device, including keychain sized flash drives, and other portable memory devices such as certain cameras and cell phones, providing an added measure of safety while traveling.
The software, developed with the guidance of national child advocacy agencies, law enforcement and security experts is designed to instantly transmit the child's critical information to law enforcement officials, allowing them to begin the search immediately, rather than spending time collecting basic information.

Life-Prints Child Protection Software Gets Important Updates for Added Effectiveness
Life-Prints Child Safety Software revolutionized the standard practices of child protection when it was released last year. By formatting child information in the same way it is used by law enforcement agencies and providing one-button transfers of essential information to the proper authorities, Life-Prints can greatly reduce the amount of time necessary to launch an effective search. This latest software release has taken its resourcefulness to the next level.
(PRWEB) Approximately 2,000 children are reported missing to the authorities every day. For the parents and guardians, it's a race against time to deliver the essential information - current photos, physical descriptions, medical conditions and key contact information - into the hands of law enforcement officers and search teams. The developers of the child safety kit software Life-Prints saw the necessity to help parents and authorities work together more effectively. They developed a user-friendly software system that is powered by the same advanced technology used by the FBI combined with information recommended by police missing persons units and the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children (NCMEC). After achieving early success with the first release, the developers have recently improved their software-based child safety program with a new release that features enhanced functionality.
The Life-Prints child safety kit software was designed to help parents organize and update high-definition photos of their children, physical descriptions, allergy and medical information, fingerprint files and contact lists. The electronic profile allows unlimited printing of child ID cards and featured an emergency button that would instantly transmit a child's profile to local law enforcement and the NCMEC.
"Life-Prints Child Safety Software addresses the issue of getting information to authorities fast when speed is critical," explains Charles Bowman, CEO, "Our new version enhances capabilities across the board, providing a user-friendly, secure system to help parents in the event of an emergency."
The new software release adds enhanced resources which can help parents quickly locate police departments, child advocacy agencies and registered child offenders in any region, as well as provide maps of those areas. The emergency button notification contacts have been expanded beyond local police and the NCMEC to include up to five additional user definable law enforcement, child advocacy and search and rescue agencies. The Life-Prints' medical information section has also been expanded to include immunization records, family history, insurance information and other key details.
Other updates include new capabilities for saving information on multiple children to a single password-protected flash drive for safety during travel, a wizard-mode user interface to help guide new users through the information entry process and the ability to print posters and flyers in addition to child ID cards. A fully functional demo version of the child safety kit software is available; which allows users to try the software for 30 days free of charge.

Readington Township, NJ - Parents cringe every time they hear about a new abduction, knowing it could have been their child. A local business is making the world a little less frightening for both parents and children.
As part of their efforts to improve the safety of New Jersey children, Life-Prints will offer Free Printed Child Identification Cards, which include a picture of each child and a full set of digital fingerprints. In an effort to reach and protect as many children as possible, Life-Prints will be available at the New Jersey Hot Festival of Ballooning July 28-30th.
In addition to this free service, the booth will offer parents Life-Prints Child Identification and Emergency Communication Software. Life-Prints Child software is a new digital ID system, which uses proprietary computer software to collect a child's photographs, descriptive as well as medical information, and digital fingerprints. If a child goes missing, parents can use the system to provide an emergency digital transmission to law enforcement officials, and Child Advocacy Organizations allowing them to begin the search immediately rather than spending time collecting basic information. By minimizing the time spent on information gathering, law enforcement can begin the search for a child sooner - and improve the odds that the child will be found.
"When a child goes missing, what matters most is time and information. A great deal of critical time is lost while parents go in search of files containing sometimes outdated photographs and or smudged fingerprint cards. . . With Life-Prints parents can now immediately provide law enforcement the essential tools needed to greatly increase the odds of a successful recovery." - Sergeant Kenny Roman Poughkeepsie Police Department.

Life-Prints Helps Find New Jersey Children. Child safety booth offers parents peace of mind

Readington Township, NJ - More than 797,000 children are reported missing each year, of which approximately 60,000 are non-family abductions. And for the parents of the 692 children reported missing in the last year who have yet to be found, each day is agonizing.
Life-Prints has introduced a revolutionary new digital child ID system, which uses a new generation of proprietary computer software to collect a child's photographs, identifying information, medical information, and digital fingerprints. When a child goes missing, this information which is in a digital format can be transmitted to law enforcement officials, allowing them to begin the search immediately, rather than spending time collecting basic information. By minimizing the time spent on information gathering, law enforcement can begin the search for a child sooner - and improve the odds that the child will be found.
A key component of the Life-Prints digital ID system is that information and photographs can be updated as often as necessary. "It [Life-Prints Child Protection Technology] will make the all-important current photo of the child more readily available to local law enforcement. Officers know how to take advantage of that photo and information to get an alert distributed immediately," says Todd Bower of Critical Reach, the police bulletin system used throughout New Jersey.
According to the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children, the first three hours are critical in finding a child. Traditional wisdom is that a child must be found within 24 hours - but in reality, the window of opportunity is much smaller.
In an effort to reach and protect as many children as possible, Life-Prints Child Protection Technology will be available at the Quick Chek New Jersey Hot Air Balloon Festival July 28-30th. Stop by their booth for more information about this new generation technology and to register your child. The festival takes place on the grounds of the Solberg Airport, 37 Thor Solberg Road, Whitehorse Station, NJ. Gates open at 1:00 PM on Friday, and at 6:00 AM Saturday and Sunday. Registrations will be accepted throughout the day. Operators will be on hand to take digital fingerprints and photographs and to show you how you can put your child's safety in your hands with Life-Prints Child Protection Technology.
