Step by Step

STEP 1  SECURE SCHOOL APPROVAL

  • Phone Superintendent's office regarding request.
  • FAX Request form and materials to be approved
  • Follow up by phone if approval not received within 24 hours
  • Print copy of each flyer selected (must be attached to Request for Approval to Distribute below)
  • Endorsement letter from Regional Director can be sent if necessary

STEP 2  PLAN YOUR DISTRIBUTION TIMING

  • Back-to-school packets sent home on the first day of school (Include a Flyer)
  • With D.A.R.E. Student Participation Letter - start of 9 week program (Include a Flyer)
  • D.A.R.E. information packets - sent throughout program (Include a Flyer)
  • D.A.R.E. gifts to graduate (Include a Flyer)
  • End-of-school packets sent home on last day (Include a Flyer)

Do Not Distribute Materials:

  • One week preceding winter/spring break
  • Immediately preceding holidays/school closings
  • During or immediately following an established school fundraiser (including Book Fairs)
  • During major and state mandated testing, i.e.,
    • HSPA
    • GEPA
    • ASK 4
    • Mid-terms
    • Final exams

STEP 3  SELECT AND ORDER FREE MATERIALS

If ordering printed materials: Life Prints must receive your order AT LEAST 14 days weeks prior to distribution date.

  • Determine total number of D.A.R.E. students requiring materials
  • Use online order form to order flyers and letters
  • Distribute materials to D.A.R.E. students
